Water, a completely natural resource was also a heavily relied on source of power, as it seemed to be always accessible to the people.
Pumps were used to raise and harness water for use in ways that'd begin changing after industrialisation. The first of water pumps dating back to times of Ancient Egypt.
In the beginning, water frames were what many factories commonly used to operate many mills and inventions such as the Spinning Jenny (an advanced spinning wheel).
However, this changed when the discovery of steam power, had erupted. Water was then brought to steam engines and boiled to make steam. As a result, steam had become an extremely effective power source for many factories during the time of the Industrial Revolution.
IMPACTS ON SOCIETY
The Water Pump’s impacts on society can be compared to that of Steam Engines, as both rely on the other to create more steam power. These negatives being; loss of jobs to self-operated machinery, loss in resources (wood, coal, etc) and harmfulness for the environment.
